Chapter 11

Patrick

We leave the room, my eagerness to get him home and sprawled across my bed leaving me an irrational mess. I need to lock up the office and shut things down, so I drag him back with me to keep him in my sight.

He stands near my desk as I rush through the process of locking up all of the important paperwork. The phone on my desk rings, and I look over to see Rob’s direct line there.

“Hey, man. I’m just about to head out.”

“I need you over here for just a few, Pat. I have to handle a bartender issue. Can I borrow you for ten or fifteen?”

“Shit!” I growl out the words, frustrated with myself for even coming back here. If I’d taken Tucker out the main entrance, we never would have gotten stopped. Instead, I’m going to have to help calm down whatever the fuck happened. “Yeah, I can. But that’s all you get. You’re really messing with my plans for the evening.”

“I know. Sorry, man. I would change it if I could, but with Lewis and Mateo on your side and unreachable, I’d rather not have to stop their night of fun.”

He’s right. The bosses never get to have time alone to play together with their attention and time taken up with the clubs. I don’t want to interrupt their one chance to enjoy the place they built together by asking them to put out this fire.

“Alright. Let me hang up so we can get this done.”

I drop the phone in the receiver, then turn to look at Tucker. He’s chewing on his bottom lip, his eyes turned down as he tries not to be obvious about his nosiness.

“Rob needs me next door. Shouldn’t take but about ten or fifteen minutes. You’ll just hang here while I go take care of it.”

“Ok, Daddy. I think I can hold off until then.”

“I’m going to spoil you when we get back to my place. You’re being an extra good boy letting Daddy get his work done.” I move around to his side, then press a kiss to his forehead. “Look around if you like. I’ve locked up all the confidential stuff.”

He smiles, then nods to me as he moves to look around the bookshelves of stuff along the back wall. I go to the side door, using the key I was loaned from Mateo to be able to move between the two spaces tonight. He and Lewis are the only ones with them, and since they are usually both split between the sides when they are here, it’s not an issue.

I slip to the other side, making sure to lock the door behind me. I don’t want anyone stumbling into my boy. Not without me there to make sure they understand he’s spoken for anyway.

I see right away the issue that’s happening in the main area. There’s a large crowd gathered around the bar, but it looks less like a crowd of people who want drinks and more like onlookers to a train wreck.
